CRAFT MAKERS CLUB

The Craft Makers Club have been working their hearts out for many years, mostly for our sick & shut-in parishioners.  If you have an interest in working on various crafts, art work, creating novelties or gifts, please consider joining our group.  You don’t have to be talented.  We can share our talents with you, or, you can share your talents with us – whatever the case may be.

Please, consider joining us every Monday morning from 9:30-11:30 in the Music Center We need your help!

These special people make rosaries for the Missions, for Sister Frances to give to our sick parishioners in the hospitals, and for Bob Ushka to distribute to his Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick who see to it that all of our sick and shut-in parishioners have rosaries.

They make small gifts to celebrate different holidays, and these gifts are given to our sick and shut-in parishioners.  For instance, for Halloween they made ghosts which could be pinned to their clothing, or just to have as a decoration.  For Christmas, they made 100  snowman, made out of Cremora bottles, to give them when they are visited by their Eucharistic Minister.  These adorable snowmen are bound to bring a smile to their faces.

PRAYER BLANKETS

The Craft Makers Group also made fifty Prayer Blankets in November.  Before they are given to our sick and shut-in parishioners, they were blessed by Father Jose.  The following explanation and prayer will accompany each Prayer Blanket:

The Prayer Blanket

This Prayer Blanket has been designed for you, a special person in the

life of your parish family.  It has been blessed at Mass  and prayed

over by the parishioners of St. Catherine Catholic Church

as a way of showing their care and concern for the sick.

Prayer for Healing

Lord, send Your Holy Spirit and make this blanket an instrument

of Your healing.  We know that You heal not only the mind and body,

but also the spirit.  Grant us the grace to accept Your will with

courage and take comfort in knowing You are with us always to

strengthen us, especially through the people of our faith

community  whose prayers are symbolized in this blanket.

MOSES BASKETS

We are in need of cash donations to purchase supplies for Moses Baskets, which are used as cribs for the needy.  Sometimes the needy put their babies in bed with them, because they have no bed for their baby..  Statistics show that many babies suffocate with this sleeping arrangement.

We always need donations for the much-needed baskets.  If anyone can help us with donations, please mail it to us at 882 Bay Street , Sebring , FL 33870 , or, if you are a parishioner, enclose your donation in an envelope marked “Moses Baskets”.  God bless you for your support.
