St. Catherine Health Ministry 

Mission Statement:

 

The mission of St. Catherine Catholic Church Health Ministry is to assist its parishioners to reclaim the Gospel value of health and wholeness.  We encourage all parishioners, as members of the Body of Christ and temples of the Holy Spirit to take responsibility for their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health, and to participate in programs that promote wholeness, health and quality of life.

 

The Health Ministry works in conjunction with Florida Hospital, under the direction of Suzanne Crew, R.N., Outreach Coordinator.  The Health Ministry provides services that promote a healthy life-style, such as the following: 

1.  Every first week-end blood pressure screening is provided before and after every Mass.

2. Tai-Chi under the direction of Ray Drury, (863) 385-7578, is held on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 A.M., in the Youth Center.

3. The Blood Bank Mobile, arranged by Jack and Betty Coxe, (863) 655-3056, comes to St. Catherine every two months. 

4. A Health Fair is held annually, at the St. Catherine Hall.  Many vendors attend and provide testing for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and other healthful information.
