"The Best Of Both Worlds
Away from the maddening crowds yet centrally located.

  • Over 85% of the entire state's population is within a 150-mile radius.

  • Central location provides easy access to all major markets.

  • Lower cost of living, and a high quality lifestyle.

Highlands County encompasses 1,029 square miles of the state's heartland in the center of Florida's peninsula.

Highlands County's prime location provides east/west/north/south market accessibility with close proximity to all major attractions. Over 85% of the state's population is within a 150 mile radius.

Highlands appropriately describes the higher elevation of the area located on the rolling hills of Central Florida's Ridge area and lake country.

Compared to the state's population density per square mile, Highlands County ranked 41 with only 78 people per square mile.

Highlands County offers a location for the highest quality life style with all the advantages of a smaller community where it's great to live and smart to do business."

"The Heart of Florida... Highlands County

Here in the center of the Sunshine State, you'll find crystal clear lakes for fishing, boating, skiing and sailing, and more than a dozen golf courses. Our gently rolling hills, orange groves and charming small towns make this a relaxing country getaway - and our central location provides easy access to Florida's best attractions without the hustle and high prices of the major tourist areas. It's the best of both worlds - within two hours of most major attractions yet removed enough for that get-away-from-it-all feeling. Come discover Highlands County for yourself!"
